Bull Mastiff

The Bullmastiff dog breed is a firm and fearless family guardian. While standoffish toward strangers, they’ve got a soft spot for their loved ones.

Even though these are purebred dogs, you may find them in the care of shelters or rescue groups. Remember to adopt! Don’t shop if you want to bring a dog home.

Called the “silent watchdog,” this breed is nonetheless so mellow that they make great apartment dogs. They have short, easy-care coats, but beware: These dogs are droolers. If you can get past a little slobber, you’ll find a big, protective companion who will be happy to join you on adventures, so long as you save a spot on the couch for them afterwards.
